What Does Wedding Insurance Cover?
The exact cover will depend on which policy you take out, and which insurer you insure with, but common items covered include:
Cancellation
If the wedding ceremony has to be cancelled for any reason, you will be able to claim back some of the costs incurred.
Clothing
Wedding dresses and suits don't come cheap, so it can make sense to cover against accidental damage. This is especially important for hired costumes, such as bridesmaid outfits and the like - the cost of replacing damaged attire will be borne by the insurance policy.
Wedding Gifts
With so many items of value in one place, it makes sense to cover them against damage or theft.
Rings
The loss of rings before the ceremony is unthinkable, but if the worst happens at least you'll be compensated financially!
Cars and Transport
Covering the hire cost of the ceremonial vehicles involved in transporting the couple and family.
Failure of Service Providers
If, for example, your caterer goes bust you won't lose the deposit or even full amount paid.
Many other items can be covered depending on the policy, from ceremonial swords to the wedding cake - make sure your policy doesn't cover things you don't need, so that you get the best price you can.
